Updates to long-standing client's website - ONTRACK Tendring Transport Users Association
So, today it’s the turn on the ONTRACK Tendring (North Essex) Transport Users’ website – starting with a declutter of the home page, by placing old news and local transport related reports on other pages on the website.
Using EmbedPress to display PDFs ...
There are numerous public documents available on this website, and the EmbedPress plugin is used to help with embedding the PDFs.
Together with Elementor Pro, it’s easy to add the EmbedPress PDF element into the existing page content, and the then apply the appropriate PDF to the element.
... And TablePress to create tables
The TablePress plugin has also been installed so the AGM PDFs can be tabled in an easy to view list. Local URLs are easily applied to the table cell content!
Google Search Console - 'Page with Redirect' flag
With another client’s website, Google Search Console has flagged a page with a redirect inserted in the code, and stating that the page is not being indexed.
Page indexing not intended
On this occasion the page is not intended to be indexed by Google. So the appropriate no-indexing tag can be applied here.
This is easily achieved with the Yoast SEO plugin: Go to the page editor in WordPress, scroll down to the Yoast SEO section. Then under the Advanced tab, the option ‘Allow search engines to show this content in search results’ – select ‘No’.
Remember to save the changes.
